Tartu is a fantastic city! Its a small college town and the students run the city basically. We went on a walking tour of the city and almost everything that has happened, every building that was built, every story about the town has something to do with the students at the University of Tartu.
It's so cool that I get to study at the University of Tartu, Estonians take great pride in their university. It's the third best university in Eastern Europe and one of the oldest too. The walking tour was at the beginning of our stay in Tartu which was super helpful, unlike the walking tour of Tallinn at the end of our stay a few days ago. We crossed two sister bridges, one all white called the Angel Bridge and one all black called the Demon Bridge, shown below.
Today we had a lecture and got to visit the AHHAA Museum of Science in Tartu. It reminded me of the Academy of Sciences, but way better. There was a virtual skiing platform, a bike on a wire you could ride, crazy optical illusion rooms like the ones at the Mystery Spot, one of those spinning orbs that astronauts go in, and a ton of other really cool and interactive tech.
That's me in a cage suspended 40 feet above the ground!
There was an entire winter themed room with skis, treadmills that let you be a dog in a dog sled, snowball fights, curling, and mini hockey.
So far this has been the best museum we've visited!!!
